I think the F1 ended up being about the numbers. It's intention with Murray was for it to be an everyday super car. He was pissed that all previous attempts were so horrible at doing everyday things. On top of that he wanted pure driving sensation and experience. The numbers are huge, yes, but accidental to intention.

That is all we want. I wonder If car makers will continue to cater to our subculture of people who actually like driving just for the pleasure of the experience. We shall see.
